The body of 54-year-old priest Marek was discovered by one of the parishioners, who arrived at the parish office in the morning. She noticed the clergyman’s body at the entrance to the boiler room. Preliminary findings, also confirmed by an inspection of the scene, indicate that the priest was probably struck on the head with some kind of heavy tool. An investigative team is already working at the scene, while the area has been cordoned off and evidence is being secured. This is an enormous shock for the residents of the village, where the clergyman was widely respected.
– At 7:30, the duty officer received a report about the discovery of a man’s body lying on the grounds of the church complex, outside near the boiler room – says spokesperson Staff Aspirant Ewa Kluczyńska – It turned out to be the 54-year-old parish priest of Pomocne parish in Jawor County. Activities are being conducted at the scene under the supervision of a prosecutor. Witnesses are being questioned and the circumstances of the incident are being established. The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy – the spokesperson adds.
