Officers of the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław are conducting operations to combat illegal gambling. – In September 2021, they inspected premises located in Wrocław, Oława, Lwówek, Świdnica, Legnica, Lubin and Głogów counties. In several cases, KAS officers carried out operations with the participation of police officers from Oława, Głogów and Legnica – reports Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, press spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS.

She adds:

A total of 25 illegal gambling machines and cash amounting to PLN 27,440 were found at the inspected locations. The seized equipment and money were retained as evidence in the case and transferred to a deposit warehouse.

Reminder: Possession of illegal gambling machines carries fines amounting to PLN 100,000 per device. This financial penalty may be imposed not only on the owner of the illegal machines, but also on a person who leases or rents premises where illegal machines are installed.

Moreover, organizing gambling games carries – in addition to a fine – a prison sentence of up to 3 years. (Or both penalties together).
