– Officers from the Economic Crime Division of the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters detained four people suspected of causing financial damage on behalf of one of the banks. Among those detained are the bank’s former president and three members of its management board, says asp. szt. Monika Kaleta from the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters.
And adds:
The suspects are accused of jointly and in concert, by June 30, 2018, in Przemków, Polkowice County, causing substantial financial damage by, while being responsible for handling the bank’s financial affairs and operations, among other things abusing the powers granted to them and leading to loan agreements being concluded with high-risk clients without assessing their creditworthiness, improperly organizing the risk-management system, preparing unreliable banking documentation and unreliable financial statements, which consequently resulted in substantial damage being caused on behalf of one of the banks.
The case concerns nearly PLN 112 million.
The suspects have already been charged in the case. By decision of the prosecutor’s office, they were subjected to property bail, a ban on leaving the country, police supervision and a ban on contacting the injured parties. All four face up to ten years in prison.
