Criminal investigators and traffic police officers from Zgorzelec stopped a Renault Master for a roadside check. – At the wheel was a 37-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County, known to the officers from previous proceedings. After checking police systems, it turned out that the man was wanted by the justice system to serve a prison sentence. In addition, he had an active driving ban, his driving licence had been revoked by a decision of the county governor, and he was under the influence of methamphetamine – lists Police Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the County Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec.
But that was not the end of it. In the van, the officers found parts from a BMW. The vehicle was manufactured in 2021 and was worth PLN 700,000. The spokesperson said: – The car had been rented from one of the companies in the Masovian Voivodeship.
The officers recovered the misappropriated car, which had already been partially dismantled. The property was secured for further procedural activities.
The 37-year-old was taken to prison. The case will be investigated in detail by police from Wołomin. Let us recall that misappropriation alone may carry a sentence of between three months and as much as five years in prison.
