In the eighth-round match of the regional league, BKS defeated Chrobry Nowogrodziec 2:1 (0:0) on Saturday, October 2, at the stadium on Spółdzielcza Street. The league leaders extended their unbeaten run in the regional league and strengthened their position at the top of the table, although the style of play in Saturday’s derby left much to be desired.
There were no goals in the first half. The most notable incident was Michał Kapusz’s free kick, after which the ball struck the crossbar of Chrobry’s goal. The hosts had another chance, but once again the ball hit the visitors’ crossbar. Apart from that, the fans watched imprecise play from both sides: inaccurate passes, loose balls, turnovers and problems controlling the ball. There were as few shots as a rare occurrence.
The hosts tried to attack, had possession and built up their play, but little came of it. The visitors waited for their opponents to make a mistake so they could launch a counterattack, but their play also featured many inaccuracies and misplaced passes, and they practically created no danger in this part of the match for Jakub Walczak’s goal.
The fans did see three goals in the second half. BKS took the lead through a goal by Adrian Biały (53rd minute). The player made use of Piotr Kuczyński’s precise cross and scored with a header. Shortly afterward, in the 56th minute, Jacek Bochnia doubled the lead to 2:0 in an identical situation. Just when it seemed that BKS would control the match and that further goals were only a matter of time, the visitors came to the fore. After Nikolas Niedzielski’s shot (75th minute), the ball found its way into BKS’s goal. It was partly an own goal—the result of a misunderstanding between the defense and the goalkeeper.
The goal gave Chrobry hope and prompted them to search more intensely for another score. In one situation, the ball struck the post; in another, a Chrobry player in a good position failed to hit the target. The end of the match became tense, with both sides having their chances, but the score did not change. BKS Bolesławiec – Chrobry Nowogrodziec 2:1 (0:0).
