A total of PLN 852,000 was awarded to clubs, associations and organizations whose proposals met the specified requirements and were submitted to the city office by January 4.
Culture
The city budget allocated PLN 22,000 for culture. Agreements amounting to PLN 18,000 were signed with the following applicants:
- PCK District Board in Bolesławiec – Integration event for children with disabilities; Concert for volunteers
- Roman Catholic Pastoral Ministry of the Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Nicholas, parish at Kościelna Street – 14th Bolesławiec Days of Christian Culture
- Bolesławiec Society for Supporting Folk Culture in Kruszyn – Series of concerts for Bolesławiec residents
Sport
The amount allocated for sport is PLN 41,000. Grant agreements were signed with the following applicants:

PLN 70,000 was allocated for sports and recreation classes conducted by sports clubs for children and young people living in Bolesławiec, up to 19 years old or up to 20 years old if they are also students of upper-secondary schools. Grant agreements were signed with the following clubs:

- UKS “Volley” – conducting recreation and sports classes. Sports and recreation volleyball classes for girls

- Students’ Sports Club “ILYO BOLESŁAWIEC” – conducting recreation and sports classes
- Physical Culture Association “Kub Aloha” – conducting recreation and sports classes
- Bolesławiec Muay Thai Club – conducting recreation and sports classes
PLN 220,000 was allocated for sports training conducted by sports clubs for talented children and young people living in Bolesławiec, up to 19 years old or up to 20 years old if they are also students of upper-secondary schools, including participation in children’s and youth sports competition appropriate to the relevant age category and organized by the sports associations responsible for each discipline. Agreements were signed with the following clubs:
- “TOP” Bolesławiec – conducting sports training in table tennis (5th league), karate and swimming; girls’ volleyball in the younger girls’ category; girls’ volleyball in the juniors’ category; girls’ volleyball in the cadets’ category; boys’ volleyball in the cadets’ category; boys’ volleyball in the juniors’ category; table tennis (4th/3rd league)
- Bolesławiec Bridge Club – specialized training for children and young people to improve their duplicate bridge skills, together with participation in competitions
- Students’ Sports Club “Ilyo” – conducting sports training and participating in sports competition for athletically gifted children and young people
- MKS “Bolesłavia” – organizing training for athletically gifted children and young people and participating in sports competition organized by the Polish Athletics Association
- BKS “Bobrzanie” – participating in competitions conducted by the Jelenia Góra OZPN in youth categories
- UKS “Volley” – conducting sports training, including participation in competition – cadet girls’ volleyball; younger girls’ volleyball
- “Junior- Set” Tennis Club – organizing tennis training for children and young people through recreation and sports classes
Healthcare
PLN 5,000 was allocated for healthcare programs. Agreements were signed with the following applicants:
- Polish Association of the Blind – Co-financing rehabilitation and training-and-rehabilitation stays for members of the Bolesławiec PZN Circle
- Association of People with Disabilities – Rehabilitation of people with disabilities through rehabilitation stays and cultural and rehabilitation activities for people with disabilities
- PCK District Board in Bolesławiec – Prevention and education for children in first aid: “Little Rescuer Helps You Help”; First-aid competitions
Counteracting Alcoholism and Drug Addiction
PLN 241,000 was allocated for healthcare—implementation of programs addressing alcoholism prevention and combating drug addiction. Agreements were signed with thirteen applicants:
- District Board of the Polish Red Cross – Family Support Point – legal and psychological assistance
- Association Against Violence “Together” – Information and Consultation Point for People Experiencing Domestic Violence
- Roman Catholic Parish at 3 Orzeszkowej Street – running a prevention and community support center providing assistance to children from families affected by alcohol and drug problems (including recreation)
- Roman Catholic Parish at 3 Kościelna Street – conducting activities related to preventing and resolving alcohol-related problems, particularly among children and young people
- Roman Catholic Pastoral Ministry of the Parish at 1b Zamkowy Square – improving and developing forms and methods of psychological and sociotherapeutic assistance for children from families affected by alcoholism
- Roman Catholic Pastoral Ministry of the Parish at 49 Jarzębinowa Street – continuing preventive activities addressing alcohol-related problems, particularly among children and young people, at the prevention and community support center at the parish of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Kwiatowe Estate in Bolesławiec
- Roman Catholic Pastoral Ministry of the Parish at 1 Krótka Street – running a parish and community support center providing assistance to children from families affected by alcohol problems, plus recreation for children attending the center
- TOP Bolesławiec – running prevention and community support centers providing assistance to children from families at risk of social pathology and affected by alcoholism and drug addiction
- ZHP – Bolesławiec District – implementing alcoholism-prevention programs through year-round, systematic work with children and young people in scouting groups under the slogan “Scouts say ‘No’ to nicotine, alcohol and drugs”
- OHP Association – Wrocław Field Branch – conducting activities related to preventing drug addiction: “STOP! DEMORALIZATION”
- “To Our Children” Association at Primary School No. 2 – “Family Tournaments – An Educational and Information Campaign on Preventing Violence in Families with Alcohol Problems”
- Bolesławiec Abstainers’ Association “Przemiana” – supporting initiatives and activities addressing alcohol-related problems and preventing the social exclusion of people with alcohol addiction after completing treatment at an addiction treatment facility
- Addiction Information and Rehabilitation Center Association “My Razem” – running an Information and Consultation Point for Drug Addiction, including information and educational activities for young people at risk of addiction and their parents
Social assistance
- PLN 120,000 was secured in the budget for social assistance—providing shelter, meals and necessary clothing to homeless people from Bolesławiec. An agreement was signed with the Polish Red Cross, Bolesławiec branch, to run a shelter for homeless men
Day camps and recreation for children and young people
PLN 16,000 was allocated for day camps for children living in Bolesławiec. An agreement was signed with “TOP” Bolesławiec for day camps for Bolesławiec children. PLN 51,000 was allocated for recreation for children and young people living in Bolesławiec who are up to 18 years old. Co-financing agreements were signed with the following entities:
- Society of Friends of Children – Inclusive seaside camps
- Polish Scouting and Guiding Association – Bolesławiec District: Recreation for Bolesławiec children and young people up to 18 years old – Summer Scout Action; Winter Scout Action
- BKS Bobrzanie – Organizing winter and summer recreation in the form of a camp for children and young people
- TKKF “Bolesławianka” – Recreation for children and young people living in Bolesławiec up to 18 years old
- TOP” Bolesławiec – Recreation for children and young people living in Bolesławiec in February 2010; recreation for children and young people living in Bolesławiec in July–August 2010
- MKS “Bolesłavia” – Organizing recreation in the form of a sports and recreation camp during the summer holidays for school-age young people
Competitive sport
As part of the call for applications to support competitive sport, the total amount of funding is PLN 70,000. Funding was awarded to the following applicants:
- Bolesławiec Bridge Club – participation in league competitions and events organized by the Polish Bridge Association in 2010
- Kolonia Sports Club – participation in “B” class football league competitions in the Jelenia Góra district
- BKS Bobrzanie – participation of the senior team in the 4th-tier football championship organized by the Lower Silesian Football Association in Wrocław and in the Polish Cup competitions organized by the District Football Association in Jelenia Góra
- TOP Bolesławiec – participation of TOP Bolesławiec teams in sports competitions: 2nd league – table tennis; 4th league – table tennis (promotion to the 3rd league planned); 3rd league – men’s basketball; 4th league – men’s volleyball; table tennis – international and national tournaments, Polish Championships and Lower Silesian Championships
Call for proposals for health programs underway
An open call for proposals is currently underway for the implementation of health programs in 2010: “Screening tests – prevention of breast diseases in women,” “Caries prevention in children,” and “Prevention of eye diseases in children.” The deadline for submitting proposals for the health programs is February 26.
