Practical training as part of the programme was conducted during the summer break. Students had to choose one of the military training rounds, which lasted six weeks and consisted of two modules:
basic training lasting 21 days, ending with an examination, the taking of the military oath and obtaining the rank of reserve private;
non-commissioned officer training, also lasting 21 days and ending with an examination, after which the students were appointed to the rank of reserve corporal.
The trainees who completed the training as part of the practical section of the non-commissioned officer module of the Academic Legion programme were presented with appointment documents confirming the rank of corporal.
The deputy commander of OSLA thanked the students gathered for taking part in the training and congratulated them on their promotions and successful completion of the training. He also wished them success in their further military service and safe journeys home. A commemorative photograph was taken at the end.
The Academic Legion is a project aimed at all higher-education students who wish to undergo military training. It makes it possible to obtain a military rank and, after completing their studies, join the army to actively serve their homeland. Participation in the LA programme is not only a summer adventure, but also an opportunity to pursue personal passions and gain additional qualifications.
