Unfortunately, many people have trouble with wrapping gifts. As a result, items usually end up in a regular gift bag, which is a simple but also rather unoriginal solution. In this article, we will suggest how to prepare unconventional gift packaging, even if you do not have any particular manual skills. Here are several interesting ideas:

Colourful Mosaic

For wrapping small items—figurines, mugs, cups, leather goods or small electronic devices—we do not even have to use boxes. All you need is a sheet of tissue paper, colourful scraps of paper, cellophane and ribbon. First, cut any shapes out of coloured paper, such as stars, hearts, circles or strips. You can use a special punch, which will make the work much easier and faster. Once you have prepared the colourful decorations, place the gift on the tissue paper and lift its edges upwards, wrapping the item. Now prepare the cellophane, on which you can scatter the previously cut-out pieces. Also fold the cellophane upwards and tie the edges of the sheets with ribbon. The paper decorations will create a colourful mosaic between the tissue paper and cellophane, producing a unique visual effect.

A Cardboard Tube Is Not Just for Shipping

Wrapping gifts made of paper can be quite difficult. Calendars, posters and large-format photographs can easily be damaged. Such gifts are best placed in a shipping tube. You can order one from the Kartony24 store website and then decorate it. Simply cover the tube with several layers of gift-wrapping paper, place a colourful napkin over the cap and tie it with ribbon. Preparing this kind of packaging will literally take a moment.

Newspapers, Maps and Kraft Paper—in Retro-Style Packaging

While there is almost always some kind of box at home, gift-wrapping paper may not be so readily available. When time is short and you have no decorative materials, simply grab a newspaper, a large-format map or kraft paper. Just wrap the gift in one of these materials. You do not even have to use ribbon. Ordinary jute string will be a much better solution in this case. This way, you can prepare original packaging in retro style.

A Jar for Trinkets

Jars are useful for more than just preserves. They can also serve as unconventional gift packaging. First, choose a jar of the appropriate size and place pine cones, spruce branches, walnuts, leaves or flowers inside it. In fact, the only thing limiting you is your imagination. Now place the gift inside and close the jar. Put a napkin with a motif matching the occasion on the lid. Tie it with ribbon and attach a gift tag with your wishes.

Use a Paper Bag

Even an ordinary brown paper bag can be turned into gift packaging. How can you do it? First, think about how you want to decorate the bag and prepare the decorative elements. You can put pieces cut from coloured paper on it, as well as sequins or stickers. You can also simply leave the bag undecorated and move straight on to the second step. Put the gift inside, then bring the edges of the bag together and fold them to the right or left. Now use a hole punch to make a hole through which you can thread string or ribbon. Add a tag with the recipient’s name and tie a bow. This type of packaging is perfect for lighter items of relatively small size.

An Old Sweater Finally Comes in Handy

Do you have an old sweater in your wardrobe that has been there for years? It can finally come in handy. If you plan to give someone a good bottle of wine, a sweater will be just the thing. First, put the bottle inside the sleeve. The cork should protrude approximately 2–3 cm above the sleeve opening. Now cut off the sleeve, leaving a small amount of extra material for sewing on the base, which should be cut from a piece of felt. After sewing on the base, place the bottle in the sleeve and tie it with ribbon at the narrowest part of the bottle so that the sleeve does not slip or stick out. This kind of packaging is perfect for an autumn or winter atmosphere.

Many inconspicuous objects can be turned into unconventional gift packaging. Importantly, you can do it quickly and without much effort. All you need are the right accessories and a little goodwill, and every gift will look original.
