On the Bolesławiec Bomb Disposal Patrol’s fan page, a mysterious post was published about activities in Lubań:

We are going underground...

Slowly and safely.

Bolesławiec bomb-disposal specialists on their activities in Lubań

As the eluban.pl website reports, the matter concerns the local basalt adits:

[…] there is evidence that during the Battle of Lubań, when access to the underground facilities was being closed, the roads leading to Kamienna Góra in Lubań were mined. A photograph published in the book by Andrzej Maciaszczyk and Łukasz Rulicki, “Secret Armaments Plants of the Third Reich in Lubań County,” shows German bomb-disposal specialists clearing mines from today’s Aleja Kombatantów, one of the roads leading toward the underground facilities. The photograph comes from the time of the Battle of Lubań. When Soviet troops captured Lubań, there was no trace of the mines. Therefore, it is now assumed that the underground facilities may also have been mined.

That is why Bolesławiec bomb-disposal specialists will be the first to examine them. We will return to this topic.
