During fieldwork in the Gryfów Śląski municipality (Lwówek County), or more precisely in the village of Rząsiny, a farmer dug up projectiles for a Panzerfaust-type grenade launcher. As reported by lwowecki.info, citing information from the head of the Rząsiny village council, the detonation of four unexploded ordnance items will take place on 14 September, between 12:00 and 15:00.

The dangerous discovery will be handled by soldiers from the Bolesławiec Bomb Disposal Patrol of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment. The bomb disposal specialists will detonate the unexploded ordnance at the discovery site.

Bomb disposal specialists:

It should be understood that explosives used in military technology are, in practice, completely resistant to weather conditions and retain their explosive properties regardless of their production date.

If you have any suspicion about a found object, call the bomb disposal specialists. They will remove the danger and are properly prepared to do so.

What should you do if you find unexploded ordnance?

Soldiers:

  1. Do not touch such objects.
  2. Secure the area against access by unauthorized persons (e.g. children) and mark the discovery site.
  3. Immediately report it by calling the emergency number 112, the Police, Municipal Guard, Fire Service or Forestry Service.
