– Police officers from Nowogrodziec detained a suspect accused of breaking in and stealing various items from a utility room – reports Staff Sergeant Łukasz Król, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
He adds:
The 45-year-old hid property originating from the crime in a nearby abandoned building, hoping that if police searched his home, they would not find incriminating evidence against him.
The clever plan failed. The perpetrator was detained, and the stolen tools were handed back to their owner.
As the suspect is a repeat offender, he could now face up to 15 years behind bars.
