The accident occurred on August 31, after 11:00 p.m., on the A4 motorway near Kraśnik Dolny, on the carriageway toward Wrocław. A trailer detached from a moving minibus and was hit by another minibus. The wrecked vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. Firefighters had to cut open the vehicle because a 35-year-old woman was trapped inside. After twenty minutes, the firefighters managed to remove the injured woman from the vehicle. She was handed over to the emergency medical team. The woman suffered a crushed foot, a broken thigh, open fractures of both forearms and bleeding into the abdominal cavity. An air ambulance helicopter from the Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe was called for her. The rescuers landed at the scene a few minutes after midnight.
