– The fair attracts enormous interest every year. For unemployed people, it is a chance to find work abroad, while for those already employed, it offers an opportunity to find a better position, better pay or a more convenient location. Nearly 60 exhibitors will take part in this year's edition, mainly from Germany, but there will also be exhibitors from the Czech Republic and Poland – says Marcin Szewczak, director of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Labour Office, adding that the fair has become firmly established in Zgorzelec, which is a welcoming place for employers and jobseekers.
Each employer will present from several to as many as several dozen job offers in almost every sector. Visitors will also be able to print and copy their CVs (curriculum vitae) and use the assistance of interpreters on site.
The event programme is already available at eures.dwup.pl. The fair will take place on Thursday, September 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at PGE Turów Arena in Zgorzelec.
– The exhibitors will include not only company representatives but also employment agencies. Visitors will be able to choose from a wide range of good employment opportunities. Workers will be sought in sectors including construction in the broadest sense, manufacturing, transport, logistics, hotels and catering, as well as trade, services, office work and others – adds Zuzanna Bielawska, deputy director of DWUP.
The Cross-Border Job Fair is a flagship initiative of the EURES-TriRegio Partnership and is co-financed by the European Union under the EaSI Programme. It is organised by EURES advisers from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Labour Office, with the support of Zgorzelec County, the City of Zgorzelec and the County Labour Office in Zgorzelec. The event also has the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
EURES is a cooperation network of public employment services and their partners in the labour market. Its support is publicly available, free of charge and aimed at people seeking employment who are interested in travelling to another country to work, as well as employers wishing to recruit workers from abroad.
