– In the early morning, officers from the Community Police Officers’ Unit of the Bolesławiec police station detained a 33-year-old man at the allotment gardens. The suspect had broken into a garden shed and intended to steal various items, reports Senior Aspirant Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
She adds: – A filled shopping bag had been placed outside the building, while the suspect was carrying a backpack containing a cordless screwdriver, a speaker and tools.
The Bolesławiec resident was caught red-handed. When the community police officers entered the shed, the thief was just packing more loot into a sack.
The detained 33-year-old is well known to the officers. The man had previously been convicted of fraud, burglary and property damage. The spokeswoman said:
The Bolesławiec Investigative Department is currently conducting further proceedings against the 33-year-old because several weeks earlier he damaged the staircase of a multi-family building and possessed narcotic substances.
This time, the 33-year-old was also caught with drugs; he had methamphetamine on him. He was therefore charged with two offenses. Since he acted as a recidivist, he may face between one and as many as fifteen years in prison.
