Celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Volunteer Fire Department in Wierzbowa were postponed to Saturday, August 21, due to COVID-related restrictions.
The anniversary began with Holy Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Wierzbowa, celebrated by parish priest Dariusz Andrzejewski. The invited guests included representatives of Gromadka Municipality, led by Mayor Dariusz Pawliszczy, the District State Fire Service Headquarters in Bolesławiec, and all volunteer fire departments from Gromadka Municipality. The guest of honor was Brig. Gen. Ryszard Dąbrowa.
The meeting was hosted by OSP Wierzbowa president Justyna Wąs-Młodecka and vice president and unit commander Władysław Wąs.
