The incident took place on Friday, August 20, in the afternoon, in Żeliszów, outside one of the shops. While reversing his car, the 25-year-old resident of Warta municipality hit another vehicle.
The police were called to the scene. Interestingly, when he saw the officers, the driver tried to flee the scene. (Witnesses joined the pursuit.) However, his plan failed because a police car blocked the fugitive’s path.
It turned out that the perpetrator of the collision was completely drunk; he had more than two parts per thousand of alcohol in his system.
The 25-year-old was arrested. He could now face up to two years in prison. What is more, the vehicle he was driving did not have a valid inspection.
