During the ceremonial session, the agenda included a ceremony at which Lower Silesian Voivode Jarosław Obremski presented the “100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence Medals.” The session also saw the presentation of the act conferring the title of Honorary Citizen of the City of Bolesławiec, as well as acts conferring the titles “Meritorious for the City of Bolesławiec.”

During the meeting, the Medals of the Centenary of Regained Independence and commemorative “100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence Medal” badges were presented. On behalf of the President of the Republic of Poland and the Prime Minister, the decorations were presented by Lower Silesian Voivode Jarosław Obremski, accompanied by Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman).

Those honored for their service to Independence were: Anna Borek (her son accepted the medal on her behalf), Krzysztof Broszko, Zdzisław Chalewicz (his daughter accepted the medal on his behalf), Bogumił Chodała, Wanda Draj, Antonia Zenona Dutkowska, Stanisław Piotr Filipek, Grzegorz Gach, Ignacy Goryczka, Dariusz Górecki, Janusz Jędzierowski, Grzegorz Klementowski, the late Mirosław Kochanowski (his wife, Krystyna Kochanowska, accepted the medal on his behalf), Eugeniusz Kowalski, Helena Kozdra, Franciszek Kozdra, Adam Krajewski, Wiesław Ogrodnik, Mariusz Andrzej Olczak, Józef Pokładek, Ryszard Ratajczak, Bogdan Szczepan Razik (his daughter-in-law, Kornelia Kaszuba-Razik, accepted the medal on his behalf), Irena Razik, Jacek Bernard Skruńdź, Mieczysław Józef Szczurek (his son, Maciej Szczurek, accepted the medal on his behalf), Wojciech Szewczuk (his wife, Beata Czarnecka-Szewczuk, accepted the medal on his behalf), Arkadiusz Adam Urban, Jan Filipek and Zbigniew Zdzisław Razik.

Who was honored?

By a resolution of November 25, 2020, the Bolesławiec City Council conferred on Janina Urszula Piestrak-Babijczuk the title of Honorary Citizen of the City of Bolesławiec. J.U. Piestrak-Babijczuk received the title in recognition of outstanding merits, worthy of the highest respect and gratitude, for the residents of Bolesławiec and for the city’s development through her professional, social and charitable activities, strengthening the urban community and supporting humanitarian social initiatives. Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman and City Council Chairman Józef Pokładek presented the honorary title to Janina Urszula Piestrak-Babijczuk.

Following the Bolesławiec City Council’s adoption of resolutions conferring the titles “Meritorious for the City of Bolesławiec,” the following people were honored during the ceremonial session: Władysława Kotlarek, Eugenia Wolska, Jarosław Kowalski, Jan Hałubiec, Artur Andrzej Nahorecki, Ewa Ditrich, Anna Dagmara Klementowska-Kusber, Barbara Zofia Kozomaricz, Iwona Violetta Nowicka, Maria Sobolska, Paweł Zwierz and Zdzisław Mirecki.

Which Bolesławiec ZOZ staff members were honored?

The next part of the ceremony featured the presentation of honorary “For Merits in Health Protection” badges. The Minister of Health awarded “For Merits in Health Protection” honorary badges to employees of SP ZOZ in Bolesławiec.
