The first league match of the season for the BKS Bolesławiec senior team ended in a 7–1 (4–0) victory. On Saturday (14 August), BKS defeated Twardy Świętoszów at Spółdzielcza, with goals scored by Jacek Bochnia (two), Maciej Szewczyk (two), Mateusz Medyński, Michał Kapusz and Marcin Kraśnicki.
The entire match was controlled by Sebastian Tylutki’s team. BKS Bolesławiec repeatedly created danger in front of the visitors’ goal, although they initially lacked finishing accuracy. In the 13th minute, we finally had reason to celebrate. Kamil Posadowski crossed from the right, and Jacek Bochnia, well positioned in the penalty area, headed us into a 1–0 lead. Four minutes later, Kamil Posadowski provided another good assist, and Maciej Szewczyk’s shot went in right by the post to make it 2–0. The intense heat that day affected both teams, but the match was fast-paced and enjoyable.
In the 24th minute, Jakub Kowalonek crossed the ball into the penalty area, and Jacek Bochnia headed home again to extend the lead. In the 42nd minute, after confusion in front of Twardy’s penalty area, the ball reached Mateusz Medyński, who set the half-time score at 4–0 for BKS Bolesławiec with a beautiful shot.
After the break, the pattern of play did not change significantly. Twardy Świętoszów’s determined players tried to fight back against our boys, but to no effect. In the 66th minute, Maciej Szewczyk took a free kick from near the penalty area. The ball struck one of the visiting defenders and went into the net. In the 69th minute, Michał Kapusz rose highest to meet a cross from Maciej Szewczyk, making it 6–0.
In the 90th minute, Twardy Świętoszów had its moment of joy. Marcin Łojko scored an honourable and fully deserved goal with a header. Marcin Łojko It was not the final scoring moment of the match, however. In the 91st minute, Marcin Kraśnicki put the visiting goalkeeper under pressure, won the ball and set the final score at 7–1 for BKS Bolesławiec.
Considering that opening matches have always been difficult for our team, such a convincing victory is very pleasing. We must now build on it and show good form in the coming matches.
Our team will play its next league match away against Nysa Zgorzelec next Saturday (21 August, 5:00 p.m.). During the week, our team will also play its first Polish Regional Cup match. On Wednesday (18 August, 5:00 p.m.), the seniors will face the BKS Bolesławiec junior team at Spółdzielcza.
