She called us on August 11 Reader:

Has anyone tried to raise the issue of the daily nighttime parties held by young people near Partyzantów?

And she added:

This is a tragedy; it is getting worse by the day. I slept for only two hours last night. Parties used to take place only on weekends; now they happen every night.

She also stated:

The police absolutely cannot cope with it.

We checked. Indeed, on the night of August 10–11, at around 1:40 a.m., a report was received by the duty officer at the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters that “young people were driving cars loudly” in the square by the church. However, when the officers arrived, nobody was there anymore.

Where is it worst?

As we were able to establish, young people from Bolesławiec particularly favor two spots where nighttime parties regularly take place, especially on weekends: the aforementioned al. Partyzantów and the area around Rajska Street, by the Bóbr River.

The police emphasize that they always respond to reports. The result? Sometimes fines are issued; sometimes the young people simply scatter in all directions when they see a police car. Unfortunately, as in the case of illegal rubbish dumps, it is impossible for two police patrols to spend the entire night stationed only at the aforementioned locations.

So all that remains is to appeal, probably extremely naively, to the partygoers: if you are going to hold drinking parties outdoors, please bear in mind that people live nearby who may have to get up for work in the morning.
