The incident occurred during the night of August 11–12. Volunteer firefighters from Różyniec:
3:45 a.m. — a dispatch concerning a suicide attempt. A person was reportedly on one of the bridges over the A4, and, according to the report, was allegedly leaning out dangerously.
According to the caller, the man most likely wanted to take his own life by jumping.
The firefighters add:
After arriving at the scene and searching the bridges at the indicated kilometer marker, we found no one.
In addition to the uniformed personnel from Różyniec, firefighters from JRG Bolesławiec and the police took part in the operation.

As we managed to establish, it was not a suicide attempt at all. An intoxicated man simply got lost during the night and ended up on the motorway. It is fortunate that no tragedy occurred!
Nevertheless, it is a very disturbing fact that the number of suicide attempts is increasing, including in our county. We discussed this subject, among other occasions, in a February interview with Franciszek Małecki-Trzaskosi, head of the Institute for Research and Analysis of Local Government Unit Activities Franciszkiem Małeckim-Trzaskosiem:
