The incident occurred overnight from August 9 to 10. “During a patrol of their assigned area, officers from the Komenda Powiatowa Policji w Lwówku Śląskim noticed a moped. The officers gave a clear signal for it to stop, but the rider accelerated and began to flee,” reports Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer for the lwówecka KPP. “After several kilometres, on a bend in the road, the man lost control of the vehicle and fell.

Fortunately, the 37-year-old resident of Lwówek County did not suffer any serious injuries. But that was not the end of the matter. It turned out that the two-wheeler’s rider had fled from the police because he was subject to a court-imposed driving ban. What is more, methamphetamine was found on him.

Furthermore, it emerged that the 37-year-old had been operating his vehicle under the influence of the aforementioned drug.

The man was arrested and placed in a police cell. He now faces a possible sentence of between three months and as many as five years in prison.
