The incident occurred on Thursday, August 5, in the afternoon, on Jana Pawła II Street in Bolesławiec. The man locked himself in an apartment and threatened to jump out of the window. All the emergency services arrived at the scene, and firefighters laid out an air cushion.
(The man's neighbours told the istotne.pl portal that the person responsible for the commotion was on an alcohol binge and was probably the pedestrian who was injured in the morning collision on Tysiąclecia Avenue).
The police confirm: it was the same 36-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, who after 7:00 a.m. ran onto the road and collided with a passing van on Tysiąclecia.
Update 3:04 p.m.
The Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters reports that the services received a report that a man was running around Jana Pawła II Street with a sharp object. When the officers arrived at the scene, the Bolesławiec resident fled to his apartment and barricaded himself inside.
Eventually, the man's mother opened the door for the services, but meanwhile her son went to the other side of the apartment and jumped from the balcony. (So, not from the side where the air cushion had been set up.)
Fortunately, the man landed in bushes and probably did not suffer any more serious injuries. Nevertheless, he was taken to hospital again.
