The incident occurred on the S3 expressway in the direction of Polkowice. The driver of a passenger car, a 29-year-old woman from Lubin, stopped in the right-hand lane for unknown reasons. A stream of vehicles traveling in the same direction passed her.
At one point, however, the 29-year-old suddenly set off. While changing lanes, she struck a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old Canadian.
“After the incident, the woman from Lubin got out of her vehicle and began pulling on the door handles of cars traveling toward Polkowice in the left-hand lane, trying to stop them. As a result of this behavior, she was dragged by one of the cars and fell onto the roadway,” reports Senior Warrant Officer Monika Kaleta of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
But this did not calm her down. The spokesperson said: “Limping, she crossed to the opposite lane and attempted to stop drivers traveling toward Legnica, creating a safety hazard for herself and other road users.”
At that moment, a paramedic was driving along the road. Seeing what was happening, he approached the desperate woman and informed the Lubin police duty officer about the entire situation.
The officers:
After the patrol arrived, the woman from Lubin was given first aid. The woman was unnaturally agitated and did not react to light. She answered the officers’ questions incoherently and illogically.
And they added:
She stated that she had felt unwell, which was why she had stopped her vehicle on the roadside. The 29-year-old told the officers that she had been traveling with her 3-year-old child, whom, as she claimed, she had abandoned while driving. She then maintained that the child was in the trunk of her car.
Fortunately, neither of these versions was confirmed. The 3-year-old daughter had been in her grandmother’s care the entire time.
The 29-year-old was not under the influence of alcohol, but a drug test detected amphetamine and methamphetamine in her system. What is more, the driver had drugs on her, which she… wanted to swallow during the medical examination.
The woman from Lubin was arrested and taken to a police cell. Her driving licence has already been confiscated. The woman will now answer for her actions in court.
