Bolesławiec criminal investigators were working on a bicycle theft case and identified a person suspected of the crime. – On one of the city’s streets, plainclothes officers noticed a 37-year-old man leading a bicycle that had been lost as a result of a crime. The man was detained and the bicycle secured – reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters.
The property, worth PLN 2,500, was returned to its owner.
That was not the end of it, however. The 37-year-old also heard charges concerning other crimes he committed in Bolesławiec:
- In May, the 37-year-old broke into a garden shed and stole a generator.
- In July, he broke into a basement, stealing a bicycle.
In addition, the man will answer for two bicycle thefts. Since the 37-year-old is a repeat offender, he may face a sentence of between one and as many as fifteen years in prison.
Spokesperson:
The detainee explained that he had committed the theft because he had come across “an opportunity.” It was dark, and the garage was open, so he decided to take someone else’s property.
