– Shortly before midnight, the duty officer at the Lubin police headquarters received a telephone report that the driver of a truck with a trailer was unable to maintain a straight line and was driving across the entire width of the road. The information indicated that the probably intoxicated driver was travelling from Polkowice towards Lubin, reports junior asp. Aleksandra Pieprzycka from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – The caller did not see the make or registration numbers. He gave the duty officer only the name of the company visible on the trailer.
A patrol from the prevention division went to the scene. The police located the vehicle and stopped the extremely irresponsible man's dangerous driving. It turned out to be a 36-year-old Ukrainian citizen.

The officers detected a strong smell of alcohol from the detainee. The man could not keep his balance and had slurred speech. Initially, he refused a breathalyzer test, so he was taken to hospital, where blood was drawn for laboratory analysis. He was then placed in a police cell.
He added: – Several hours later, the officers tested the 36-year-old with a breathalyzer. The result – even after that much time – was alarming. The man “blew” 1.8 per mille of alcohol.
The foreign national's fate will now be decided by the court. Let us recall that driving while drunk can carry a sentence of up to two years in prison.

Therefore, police officers appeal for common sense on the road, while also thanking every person who, suspecting that a drunk driver posing a threat to other road users has appeared on the road, informs the police. They respond immediately and remove such people from traffic.
