On Saturday, 30 January, the eighth edition of the international Open Taekwondo Meisterschaft tournament took place. UKS Ilyo was represented by seven taekwondo athletes. – For most of the competitors, this was their first tournament of such importance – says Mariusz Sulma, president and coach of UKS Ilyo. – Despite this, they performed very well.
Mariusz Sulma’s athletes won three medals. Maciej Szczepanowski won silver (he competed in the junior category up to 70 kg), while Wiktoria Knapczyk (up to 29 kg) and Mateusz Boczarski (up to 45 kg) won bronze.
Korean coaches in Bolesławiec!
From 8 to 14 February, Korean Olympic taekwondo coaches will visit our town. Athletes from Bolesławiec, Zgorzelec, Bogatynia, Wrocław, Borne Sulinowo, Świnoujście, Zielona Góra and Poznań will take part in the training camp.
