The incident took place on Sunday, July 18. At around 8:30 p.m., officers from the Police Station in Gryfów Śląski noticed a Ford on national road No. 30, in the village of Krzewie Wielkie. – Sparks were flying from the car’s front wheel because, instead of a tyre, the vehicle was driving on just the rim. The police stopped the driver for a road check – reports Sgt. Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski.

The result? The spokesperson says: – The very first exchange of words clearly indicated that the 32-year-old driver was under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyser test confirmed the officers’ suspicions. It turned out that the man had 2.6 parts per thousand of alcohol in his exhaled air.

As if that were not enough, it also came to light that the resident of Karkonosze County did not have… a driving licence.

The officers appeal:

Even a small amount of alcohol affects our driving style and the way we drive, which in turn affects our behaviour on the road and road safety. When getting behind the wheel, we take responsibility not only for ourselves, but also for other road users. The highest price of such behaviour is human health and life.
