The incident took place on Saturday, July 17, in Świeradów-Zdrój. As reported by the Lwówek na sygnale service:
The small kittens were in the Santa Maria stream.
At around 7:00 p.m., the duty officer at the Lubań fire service received a report about kittens trapped in the stream. They were caught in water plants and had no way to get out onto the bank. City residents rescued one of them, while Świeradów volunteer firefighters rescued the other.
The Lwówek service adds:
It is not known how they [kotki – red.] ended up there; most likely, someone abandoned them. Now they are looking for their loving home…
Let us recall that abandoning an animal is a crime punishable—if it was committed with particular cruelty—by up to five years in prison.
