– The duty officer at the District Police Headquarters in Środa Śląska was informed that a driver who had arrived to unload at one of the production plants might be under the influence of alcohol. Police officers from the Środa Śląska traffic unit, travelling to the scene of the intervention, spotted the described tractor-trailer on the road. They stopped the driver, immediately detecting the smell of alcohol – reports asp. szt. Monika Kaleta from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
It turned out that the 55-year-old resident of Łódź Voivodeship was completely drunk; he had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. The man was immediately taken to police custody, and his driving licence was also seized.

Another driver got behind the wheel after drinking alcohol. Every such situation is dangerous, as it can end in an accident in which someone is injured. This time, however, officers stopped a professional driver who, disregarding the possible consequences of his actions, drove a tractor-trailer onto a public road while significantly under the influence of alcohol.

By doing so, he not only endangered himself and other road users, but also lost his driving licence, which may prevent him from continuing to work in the profession.
