The International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium has a tradition spanning more than 50 years and is the oldest event of its kind in Poland. The symposiums, initially national in scope, gained international status in 1995. Every year, 10–12 artists from different parts of the world take part.
In 2020, the 56th edition took place, but due to COVID-19 it was reduced to a local event. Ten Polish artists took part, all associated with Bolesławiec: Barbara Bednarowicz, Barbara Kozłowska-Trojnar, Joanna Bruździńska, Marta Małoszyc, Joanna Mysłek-Michnowska, Mariusz Ochocki, Jacek Opała, Edyta Orlińska, Martyna Izabela Woźnica-Chrostek and Marek Zyga.
The post-symposium exhibition was presented in Bolesławiec in the autumn and most recently at the Legnica Culture Centre.
The exhibition travelled to our western neighbours thanks to cooperation between the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre and the Association for the Promotion of the City of Culture Görlitz-Zgorzelec (FVKS e.V.).
The project “Post-Symposium Exhibition of the 56th International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium in Görlitz” is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the state budget במסגרת the Small Projects Fund of Interreg Poland–Saxony 2014–2022.
