The final batch of equipment—eight 155 mm KRAB self-propelled howitzers, three command vehicles and two ammunition vehicles—was delivered to the third battery of the 2nd self-propelled artillery squadron, which now has a complete set of equipment for the new artillery system.
For the subordinates of Lieutenant Colonel Jacek Jackowski, commander of the 2nd self-propelled artillery squadron, an intensive training period began at the start of the year, preparing personnel to operate the new artillery equipment as intended.
23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment:
The squadron’s first field training, completed a week ago at the OSPWL Żagań facilities in the Świętoszów training area, made it possible to test the new equipment’s capabilities in difficult terrain and the crews’ skills during combat operations. The combat-readiness competitions held during the training tested the proficiency of the howitzer crews and squadron teams during the initial period of coordination and preparation for conducting combat operations as intended.
Further practical training and live-fire exercises are scheduled at the CSAiU training area in Toruń.
Like the artillery units in Węgorzewo and Sulechów, the Bolesławiec regiment has 24 KRAB self-propelled howitzers and 18 support vehicles: command-and-staff vehicles, command vehicles, ammunition vehicles, and weapons and electronics repair vehicles.
