Here is how the firefighters from OSP Krzyżowa described the incident:

Today at 8:03 p.m., our unit was dispatched to a car fire at the 50th kilometre of the A4, in the direction of Zgorzelec. Upon arrival, it turned out that the fire in the engine compartment had been extinguished with fire extinguishers, and our task was to secure the scene, thoroughly douse the compartment and ensure that the hazard had been eliminated. JRG BOLESŁAWIEC, the Police and the road operator were also at the scene.
