Bolesławiec criminal investigators arrested two men suspected of burglaries targeting basement rooms and allotment-garden sheds. “Six cellar burglaries—that was the joint work of two friends from the housing estate. At night, the perpetrators ‘walked’ around one of Bolesławiec’s housing estates, checking which doors to the apartment-block stairwells were open and where there was easy access to the basement area of a building,” reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
In this way, the duo managed to break into six basement storage units, from which they stole, among other things, toolboxes, mobile phones and bathroom fixtures. Spokesperson:
After the 33-year-old was arrested, police found some of the items originating from the crimes in residential and utility rooms. The suspect is charged with six burglaries of cellars and a burglary of a shed at a family allotment garden.
The 33-year-old’s accomplice, a 28-year-old man from Bolesławiec, will face charges for four cellar burglaries and six burglaries committed jointly with his older associate. That is not all, however. The younger of the detainees additionally heard four charges related to burglaries of sheds. (He has a total of 14 offenses on his record).
Both suspects could now face between one and ten years in prison.
