Readers who were outraged and concerned about the felling of a tree by the Bolesławiec Municipality Office on Teatralna Street contacted our editorial office today.
The first wrote:
Why are we cutting down trees when there are so few of them? Not enough parking spaces? Let’s pave over everything.
The second reader suspects that a parking lot will replace the tree.
They cut down one of the last conifers in the town, next to the Rural Municipality Office. I guess someone is preparing parking spaces for themselves :(
We asked the office about the reasons for cutting down the tree. Deputy Mayor Roman Jaworski responded tersely and did not explain the reasons for the felling.
Boleslawiec Municipality submitted an application for permission to fell the tree and received approval (decision no. 522/2021).

It is a shame that officials do not want to explain why the conifer was cut down, as it provided some shade in this spot.
