During the concert, the following groups will perform: Takcik (children aged 5–6), Urwisy (aged 7–9), Mały Takt (aged 10–14) and Takt (young people and adults aged 15 and over) from the contemporary and modern dance studio of the Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury in Bolesławiec, led by Anna Leśniewska.
Modern dance combines elements of various forms, such as classical dance, hip-hop and disco. Its roots include elements of Native American and African folk dance. Contemporary dance, in turn, is based on the plasticity of movement, tension and relaxation, and the expression of thoughts and emotions. It develops dancers’ awareness of their own bodies. Movement is created using breath, gravity and body weight.
The class participants will show the advantages and beauty of both types of dance, taking us on a dance journey to sunny places. They will visit, among other places, New York, bake a cake and play hide-and-seek.
The dance performance will take place on Monday, 21 June, at 6:00 p.m. at the Old Theatre in Bolesławiec; admission is free. Due to restrictions related to the epidemic, the number of seats is limited. During the event, viewers must keep their distance and cover their mouths and noses with a mask.
