The editorial team of istotne.pl received a petition addressed to the Mayor of the City of Ceramics, Piotr Roman, and councillors of the Bolesławiec City Council. The petition was authored by the local community of residents of Leśna, Domeyki, Lubańska and Śluzowa streets. The document concerns opposition “to plans for multi-family, multi-storey development at 45 Leśna Street on the site of a former hatchery.”

The letter states:

As residents of this area, we wish to express our concern and opposition to the plan to construct multi-storey buildings in our neighbourhood. Such construction will have a decidedly negative impact on our quality of life.

When purchasing plots from the Municipality of Bolesławiec, we were given planning conditions for exclusively single-family, low-density development. In accordance with the City’s development strategy, single-family residential development should be complemented exclusively by single-family development. Constructing multi-storey blocks in this location will be grossly unfair and indicates that we were misled when purchasing our plots from the Municipality of Bolesławiec.

The planned development will also increase the number of parked cars, worsen air quality and increase noise. Furthermore, this development will reduce the market value of our houses and land.

We request that permission not be issued for multi-family, multi-storey development at 45 Leśna Street.

The petition’s signatories add:

We invite the Bolesławiec City Council to a meeting with residents, lawyers, media representatives, environmental organisations and all opponents of this development on 20 July 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in room 313 at the City Council Office, 1 Piłsudskiego Square.

Let us recall. We reported on the matter at the beginning of June in the article Will a giant building be constructed near Leśna in Bolesławiec? Residents do not rule out protests.
