The reader told us about his visit to the Paid Parking Zone office on June 15.
“First, I stood in line for almost 50 minutes, even though there were five people ahead of me,” the reader says. “When I finally went in to obtain a parking permit, I learned that I could park free of charge only on Bielska Street, where I live. I asked why I could not park on Łukasiewicza Street, which is adjacent to Bielska Street. The information about the Paid Parking Zone states that residents of the zone do not pay for parking on “their” street or a directly adjacent one. And the woman told me that you have to pay for the “or.” I argued with her because, according to the information I had about parking in the zone, I had the right to park both on Bielska Street and on Łukasiewicza Street. However, she said that I could park only on my own street, and if I wanted to park on Łukasiewicza Street, I would have to pay an additional PLN 200. And she held the terminal out in front of me so that I would pay. I refused,” the reader recounts his visit to the office.
The City Office apologizes and confirms that zero parking fees are available to residents of the paid parking zone within the street where the car owner is registered or lives, or on a directly adjacent street, on the basis of a resident parking permit.
