As CBŚP reports:

The case is being handled by police officers from the Poznań Board of the Central Police Investigation Bureau, under the supervision of the Lower Silesian Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Wrocław.

Police officers from the Poznań and Wrocław branches of the Central Police Investigation Bureau detained eight people, including two “chemists”, during operations carried out in Zgorzelec and nearby towns. They seized methamphetamine, amphetamine and marijuana. In addition, they took possession of a firearm, ammunition, telescopic batons, knives, machetes and police equipment (handcuffs, light-and-sound signaling equipment and a tonfa baton), as well as other items that could be used to commit crimes.

In one of the utility rooms in Zgorzelec County, police officers discovered an entrance in the floor located inside a dog kennel. The narrow passage led to a room where methamphetamine was being produced. A specialized drug-production, cooling and ventilation system had been built there. Officers secured a production line for synthetic drugs and seized, among other things, laboratory vessels and more than 200 liters of various chemicals that could be used to manufacture drugs.

Police officers from the Zgorzelec County Police Headquarters and the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, as well as officers from the Lower Silesian National Revenue Administration (KAS), provided support during the operation.

The prosecutor from the Lower Silesian Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Wrocław presented the detainees with charges of participating in an organized criminal group, producing drugs and introducing them into circulation in Poland. By court decision, five suspects were temporarily detained. CBŚP: “Regarding the remaining suspects, the prosecutor applied preventive measures in the form of property bail and police supervision combined with a ban on contacting specific individuals.”

Investigators add:

The operation is a continuation of an investigation into a dismantled organized criminal group involved in smuggling drugs from the Netherlands to Poland and other European Union countries, as well as selling them. According to the findings, the gang members were also involved in producing drugs, namely setting up methamphetamine laboratories producing what is known as “piko”.
