It was on Tuesday that the young soldiers took part in a formal military roll call for the first time, where they had the honor of receiving an inseparable element of a soldier’s equipment—their weapon. From that point onward, they will use it during training and, if necessary, also in defense of the Homeland.

Commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, Colonel Marek Wasielewski:

Today is your first military celebration. You are receiving weapons, an indispensable attribute of a soldier and an element of military service. You must get to know them and master their use as quickly as possible. For the next four weeks, they will accompany you every day during this difficult period of training. I wish you all success and a swift transition from civilian life to military life.

The regiment commander also familiarized the recruits with the most important areas of training and the tasks they will face during the preparatory course. The recruits now have four weeks of intensive training ahead of them, ending with examinations and the taking of the military oath.
