The incident took place in Leśna (Lubań County) at night. A police patrol spotted a quad-bike driver carrying a passenger. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic check. However, the driver did not stop; on the contrary, he suddenly changed direction and began to flee.
At one point, the fugitive turned onto an unpaved road and sped across a field. Shortly afterward, he abandoned the vehicle and began fleeing on foot with the passenger. The older of the two men, a 50-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County, was detained. He had a small amount of drugs on him.

The quad bike they were riding had no license plate, and its VIN numbers had been removed. The vehicle was secured for further proceedings.
The 33-year-old quad-bike driver, also a resident of Zgorzelec County, was subsequently apprehended by the officers. The spokesperson said:
He was charged with failing to stop for a traffic check, for which he faces a sentence of up to five years in prison. The vehicle passenger admitted to possessing drugs and faces up to one year in prison.
