Commander of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec, Col. Marek Wasielewski:
We remember those who fell while serving outside the country, as well as those who, while serving in missions as part of Polish Military Contingents, risked their lives and health.
In addition, the commander of the Bolesławiec artillerymen thanked the veterans for proudly representing the colors of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment and honorably fulfilling their duty to the homeland.
During the ceremony commemorating Veterans Day of Activities Outside the Borders of the State and the International Day of Peacekeeping Mission Participants, the artillerymen paid tribute to all soldiers who, wearing the red-and-white flag on their shoulders, brought assistance wherever peace was threatened and human rights were violated, risking their health and lives.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity to honor veterans of the 23rd Artillery Regiment with letters of congratulations for their dedication and for exemplifying the highest military standards while serving in Polish Military Contingents.

After the ceremony, Colonel Wasielewski met with injured veterans. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss current matters and issues concerning veterans who suffered health impairments during activities outside the country.
