The incident took place on Sunday, May 30. Firefighters from OSP Brochocin (Złotoryja County):
Fire service operations are not only FIRES, road accidents or other local hazards... Today we were notified about a baby raccoon that was found near buildings in Brochocin. For many hours, the baby’s mother did not appear to take it away.
The firefighters add:
Since the animal was near the road and within reach of, for example, dogs, we decided to secure the baby. It will be taken to Klekusiowo-Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre.
And they appeal:
Remember that if there is no danger, we should not take wild animals home – their parents are often nearby...
Every creature matters... Every life is priceless...
