At Grodziec Castle in the Zagrodno municipality, a series of studies has begun in cooperation with the monthly magazine “Odkrywca”. Using a high-class laser scanner with a range of 350 metres, specialists will be able to examine the fortress, including how it was expanded. The studies will certainly improve safety. (The roof will be checked to see whether, for example, it is undergoing any deformation).

What is most interesting from the tourists’ point of view, however, is that specialists will search the castle for rooms that have not yet been discovered. First, the treasury will be examined—a subterranean room discovered at the beginning of the 20th century beneath one of the chambers. Then the well in the courtyard, around which numerous legends circulate.

The municipal authorities do not hide the fact that they hope the new discoveries will encourage tourists to visit the fortress again—and to learn about its new secrets. As the Zagrodno authorities emphasize, both the castle and the entire municipality are exceptionally interesting places.
