– The Lublin KAS uncovered illegal fuel trading on a property in Łuków County. Approximately 30,000 litres of petroleum-based substance were found in farm buildings and in the trailer of a heavy goods vehicle. A lorry with empty containers and equipment for transferring fuel was also secured. Two people were detained, reports Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS.

According to the secured documentation, the goods were travelling from Germany to Slovakia. However, they were intended for illegal distribution in the Lublin Voivodeship.

The spokesperson adds:

The tractor unit with trailer secured at the site had not been registered in the SENT Road Transport Monitoring System. The goods were transported in breach of applicable regulations—in tanks without the required certifications and without the appropriate ADR markings (the convention concerning the road transport of dangerous goods and loads, such as flammable substances).

The offender who failed to fulfil the obligations arising from the regulations faces a fine of up to PLN 100,000.
