Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec, while conducting operational activities, identified the perpetrator of the theft of a battery, rims, a starter motor and cables. KPP:

The man was hiding from investigators, having created a special hideout within the building’s structure. As a result of a detailed search of the property, the officers found the hiding place and arrested the suspect, uncovering another crime committed by the 34-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec municipality.

As it turned out, extension cords had been strung throughout the suspect’s house, supplying power to a heater and a television. What caught the officers’ attention, however, was that the box where the wires were connected had no meter. Officers:

Representatives of the electricity company confirmed that the power consumption was illegal. According to the power plant’s calculations, the man had stolen electricity worth more than PLN 6,000.

The arrested man is well known to the police. Over the past six months, officers have proven that he committed as many as eight crimes. The 34-year-old faces charges including intentional property damage, burglary, fleeing from a police patrol (he drove a car despite a court-ordered driving ban), as well as drug possession and electricity theft.

As the 34-year-old is a repeat offender, he could now face a sentence ranging from one to as many as fifteen years in prison.
