Although the declared remuneration is substantial, the hospital in Legnica has been unsuccessfully trying to recruit an emergency medicine doctor.

As reported by the tvn24.pl:

The job offer at the hospital in Legnica provides for a rate of PLN 225 per hour, with 240 hours of on-call duty per month. That amounts to PLN 54,000 gross for a month of work. Medical professionals are not lining up for the position. On the contrary—no one has applied, not a single candidate, even for preliminary talks.

The hospital’s spokesperson, Tomasz Kozieł, admits that it is chronically short-staffed. The hospital would gladly employ at least two or three people in each department. In the case of emergency medicine doctors, the situation is even more complicated. There are barely around 70 specialists in this field in Lower Silesia in total, while another 45 people are undergoing specialization.
