Jelenia Góra criminal investigators arrested a 31-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County suspected of stealing cars. “As police officers established, the man is suspected of stealing at least two Audi A6 vehicles. One was stolen in Jelenia Góra, and the other in Bolesławiec County,” reports junior aspirant Przemysław Ratajczyk, press officer of the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

He adds:

Based on the information gathered and an analysis of surveillance-camera footage, officers identified a man suspected of stealing a vehicle in Jelenia Góra. He was a 31-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County who, as it later turned out, had also stolen a car in Bolesławiec County.

The man was arrested on April 21. Police recovered the stolen cars and secured tools used to steal vehicles, as well as the Volvo in which the 31-year-old was traveling. The spokesperson said:

Police are currently investigating all the circumstances of the case in detail. It is possible that the arrested man has committed more similar offenses.

The court ordered the 31-year-old held in pretrial detention for three months. He faces between one and as many as ten years in prison.
