Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman told istotne.pl that the city of ceramics receives the least money per resident from the Government Local Investment Fund of all the municipalities in Bolesławiec County. Andrzej Duda had his lowest support in last year's presidential election precisely in Bolesławiec.
– Gromadka received proportionally more than 10 times as much money as Bolesławiec. Only two municipalities received money every time (three times): Gromadka (a total of almost PLN 4 million) and Nowogrodziec (nearly PLN 5 million). Only one municipality, the city of Bolesławiec, received PLN 0 twice – informs Mayor Piotr Roman.
| Municipality | Amount per resident | Support for A. Duda |
|---|---|---|
| Bolesławiec (city) | PLN 68 | 42.69% |
| Warta Bolesławiecka | PLN 143 | 57.64% |
| Bolesławiec (municipality) | PLN 168 | 50.52% |
| Osiecznica | PLN 204 | 51.17% |
| Nowogrodziec | PLN 328 | 60.91% |
| Gromadka | PLN 727 | 62.87% |
– The city received money in the first round, when all municipalities in Bolesławiec County received the amounts they had applied for and the allocation was based, for the only time, on objective criteria. The money received by the municipalities comes from the COVID-19 Counteracting Fund. Gromadka, which is the leader and favorite of the PiS fund distributors, has been the wealthiest municipality in Bolesławiec County for several years. Second place went to Nowogrodziec, whose mayor joined Zbigniew Ziobro's Solidarna Polska party – Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman told istotne.pl.
According to Mayor Roman, the disparities are enormous, unprecedented and surprising. The average for the voivodeship is approximately PLN 277 per resident. Only two municipalities in the county exceeded this average. If Bolesławiec had received the average amount of PLN 277 multiplied by the number of residents, the total would have been nearly PLN 11 million.
– Bolesławiec did not receive money, among other things, for the construction of a kindergarten, which means that the entire investment will be covered from its own funds – Mayor Roman says.
Andrzej Duda received his highest support in the 2020 presidential election in the municipalities of Gromadka and Nowogrodziec. These same municipalities received the largest grants from the Local Investment Fund.
In total, the municipalities of Bolesławiec County received PLN 16.7 million in three allocations. Based on the voivodeship average, they should have received PLN 24.9 million. For comparison, Lubin received PLN 11.5 million in a single tranche.
– In the city and county of Lubin, PiS is in opposition. The person deciding how the funds were distributed was Lubin MP Kubów, who was Robert Raczyński's (Bezpartyjni i Samorządowcy) opponent in the election for city mayor (Raczyński won again). Duda won the presidential election in Lubin, but without the MP's support, Lubin would have received nothing – Piotr Roman concludes.
