On Tuesday, 22 December, a Christmas play entitled “Herody” was presented in the assembly hall of Zespół Szkół Handlowych i Usługowych in Bolesławiec. It was prepared by catechist Bogdan Biernat and the school’s students.
“Herody” is a performance depicting the eternal struggle between good and evil. In addition to King Herod, it features soldiers, a Jew, a marshal, angels, devils and Death.
The action takes place in the monarch’s palace. Herod, possessed by jealousy and a lust for power, renounces obedience to God. He wants to kill the newly born Messiah. Ultimately, however, good triumphs.
On that day, everyone gathered in the ZSHiU assembly hall also heard the most beautiful Christmas carols performed by female students of the Logistics Technical School.
