– On the first day of preparatory service, each volunteer underwent an antigen test using a COVID-19 swab, the result of which was known after just 15 minutes – informs Capt. Agnieszka Kozik from the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec. – In addition, each volunteer had to complete the entire induction process, encountering along the way, among others, personnel responsible for the unit’s human resources, finance and education matters, as well as a consultant for psychological prevention and a doctor.

What is more, each of the fifty volunteers received the necessary equipment and uniform, and after completing preparatory service will receive the rank of reserve private.

What awaits the future soldiers?

Captain A. Kozik:

The volunteers face an intensive period of training lasting nearly four weeks, focused largely on tactical and firearms training, as well as regulations and drill. The intensive training will be conducted while observing the prevailing sanitary restrictions and will conclude with a ceremonial military oath, scheduled this time for May 1, preceded by final examinations.

The spokesperson adds:

The current candidates for military service come from across the country and have various motivations, but they are united by a positive attitude and readiness to act. Family traditions, an interest in military affairs and, above all, professional stability and gaining new experience were the main reasons guiding these young recruits.

We welcome all inducted recruits into the ranks of the artillery unit and wish each of them strength and perseverance in pursuing their intended goals!
